Lines of quiet beauty -Presentation of DKM art collections
Mr. Dirk Krämer
The Museum DKM is located in the town center of Duisburg on Güntherstraße 13-15 between Kantpark with the Wilhelm Lehmbruck Museum and the Central Station. In 2005, the Swiss architect Hans Rohr converted a residential and commercial property dating from the nineteen sixties into a museum fto hold the founder's artworks. In accordance with the donors’ concept, the museum’s design was intended to serve to display of art with noble reticence.
The result is a museum-complex consisting of three buildings that encompass 51 gallery spaces stretching out over a total of 2,700 square meters on five levels presenting contemporary artists like Richard Long or Ai Wei Wei as well as treasures of Asian and Ancient art.
